Montessori

I was a traditional Elementary school teacher for five years but I fell in love with the Montessori philosophy of education when I started working as an assistant in a Montessori school in Charlotte, NC in 2014. I did the teacher training and became a qualified Montessori Elementary Teacher the following year. I love the beautiful hands on materials, group learning, multiple ages in one room, learning at the child's pace, encouraging creativity and the focus on order, concentration, independence and community. I am doing my best to guide my toddler in "the work of the home" such as unloading the dishwasher, helping with food preparation, setting and cleaning up the table, folding laundry and more. I'm also trying to incorporate Montessori works and inspired actives where I can.
