How Far Along: 35 weeks 5 days

Size: Baby is probably almost 6 lbs, and is about 18 ½ inches head to toe. Food comparison – Honeydew melon

Weight gain: 25 lbs (weighed yesterday!)

Gender: We officially have our boy and girl name picked out! We’ve actually been calling baby by both names for a long time, we just made it official and both agreed we loved them.

Baby bump: Is huge! And… my belly button has made its way out by 1mm. You probably wouldn’t even notice, but I do. Haha, I knew the day would come!

Movement: I asked the Midwife about the groin tickles and she said it was probably his/her hands. That is so darling! Lots of movement, making my tummy all lopsided and skew.

Exercise: I was just about to head out to yoga yesterday when I ended up mildly flooding the bathroom. Seriously!? I spent the next 45 mins on my hands and knees with towels and scrubbers and house cleaner and a lot of eye rolling. It was not fun at all – but it was a workout. Not the one I had planned but a workout nonetheless. I haven’t done much else this week besides walking and one swim. That seems to be just fine these days – especially in this beautiful weather. I do also enjoy a “Sun Salutation” type of stretch before bed.

How I’m feeling: Daniel got a cold this week and was almost shipped off to my Mom and Stepdad’s house. I haven’t been sick at all (oh dear, you aren’t supposed to say things like this) and I was not about to have a sore throat on top of everything that comes with being 35 weeks pregnant, lol. I’m sure he’ll feel better soon but baby and I will be over here doubling up on my Juice Plus gummies to double protect us 😉

Cravings/Aversions:

  1. Cravings- Cheese puffs. I did a naughty thing and bought some at Trader Joe’s. I really try hard to eat vegan 100% of the time but I’m not pretending to be perfect (even when I’m not pregnant) so I’m happy to share when I fall off the wagon. I just get back up and try again.

  2. Aversions- Still the same: Sundried tomatoes, peanut sauce, and curry. The meat smells don’t actually bother me anymore!

What I miss:

  1. Sleeping on my tummy and back (still my number one miss!)(I’m not changing this…ever)

  2. Hugging Daniel properly without a big tummy getting in the way.

Nursery: With the changing mat, the cloth diaper supplies and the goodies I got at the shower, the nursery looks amazing. We realized that we don’t need everything 100% ready in the room, even though it would look good for the photos. We still need a rug and some cushions but those can wait while we purchase other important items, like getting my cloth diaper stash sorted. We have a great start (Thanks Liza and Liz!) but I think that will last ½ a day, hahaha. We are going to start with disposables while baby is small and while I am probably overwhelmed. We will switch to cloth as soon as we can. I’d love to hear about your cloth diapering experience!

Getting there slowly!

Baby Purchases: I bought a couple of things like some changing mats to go on (or under?) the changing pad, a newborn car seat insert and some 3 month old long sleeve onesies. I wasn’t sure whether to get the newborn size, but I felt like they were so similar and that the 3 month one might last longer. I don’t want our son or daughter to drown in their clothes but I also don’t want to waste money on clothes that he/she can’t wear. The struggle is real and I feel like it’s just the beginning of the clothing battle!

Such cute gender neutral clothes!

Can’t wait for: Our “Birth Journey” class tomorrow. ALL DAY. 8am – 6pm. Oh dear. My brain is going to be mush by 8:30am! Daniel will have to take the notes for me, he’s good at that! We also have a baby shower at Daniel’s work today, can you believe how lucky I am!

As promised, here are some of my “pregnancy blooper” pictures. You’re welcome 😉

Thank goodness our maternity photoshoot by Rachel Hendrick from Saturday came out so beautifully! Thank you for an amazing morning, we will treasure these pictures forever! See more here.

Till next week,

Thanks for reading,
