How Far Along: 25 weeks 5 days

Size: About 1lb14oz, and about 13in head to toe. Food comparison – Rutabaga (Roota-who-ga? I had no idea what this was. It’s apparently a cross between a cabbage and a turnip, but we just call them turnips. It looks smaller than a mango though? I’m not sure who decides this fruit and veggie stuff?)

Gender: We have a baby girl and baby boy’s name picked out! No, I’m not telling you because you’ll tell me it’s your dog’s name, or your weird aunt or something like that. We have a few “back-up” girl names so we can see what suits baby- but if it’s a boy, we pretty much just agree on one name so that’s that!

Baby bump: People keep saying I’m so small for 6 months but baby is actually in the 60th percentile for weight so we are just fine with my bump thank you.

Bump loves the pool!

Movement: Yesterday baby moved and kicked all afternoon. It’s the most consistant movement I’ve felt the entire pregnancy. Usually it’s one or two kicks and then back to whatever babies do in the womb. Sleep I’m guessing?

Exercise: I had such a great weekend at Y2 doing the “Yoga Assist Training”. I loved learning how to help support people and take them further into postures. There are so many assists to remember, and it was a much tougher workout than I expected! You look completely ridiculous half the time but now I can appreciate the assists I receive even more! I’m always willing the instructor my way in class.

Clothing: What is my punishment for breaking a promise? Eeek. I don’t have maternity shorts or jeans yet. I had yoga teacher training all weekend so all I needed were my comfy ‘gym’ clothes. Jeans didn’t enter my mind one bit!

How I’m feeling: I thought the crazy food hormone period was over but apparently not. Last night Daniel was going through our budget and spending for the month with me and was saying we WAY exceeded our amount for eating out. He started listing some places and things we had eaten and my mind locked on to one pasta I had earlier in the month. It was vegetarian, but not vegan. Not my proudest moment. He went on to other things but mentioned the same pasta like 5 times. I finally said that I needed that pasta in my face right then and that we were going to get it for dinner. Can you see where this is going? I literally started salivating. He said that we already had veggie burgers on the meal plan (yay, finally) and we should just stay home and make them. I said I didn’t feel like them and needed the pasta. He replied that we were already over budget and he’d love it if we were on the same page. All legit points. I huffed and left the room before convincing myself he was right so I went to start the food but burst into tears when he came to give me a hug. I sobbed and confessed I really did want the pasta but also didn’t at the same time, and I didn’t know why I was crying because I didn’t think I was that upset about it. I know he tried to understand but you just can’t get your head around pregnancy hormones can you? Poor guy. Please tell me you have similar breakdown stories!?

Other than that I’m feeling happy, healthy, and fit!

Cravings/Aversions:

  1. Cravings- Just that one pasta.

  2. Aversions- Still the same: Sundried tomatoes, peanut sauce, stirfry, curry, and meat smells. Yucky!

What I miss:

  1. Lying on my tummy and back (still my number one miss!)(I’m not changing this…ever)

Nursery: We have drawn out all the plans and are slowly pricing different options for the things we want. I think I found a Montessori style mirror and pull-up bar that I like (pic below). We are also getting some prints from Etsy and will frame them and put them up. I literally can’t wait to have it finished and show you!

Baby Purchases: I bought two outfits from Marshalls that are so cute. I just want to play dress up with my baby now! I realized the one pictured below may be too girly, what do you think? If so, I’ll just take it back if we have a boy.

It’s designed by Jessica Simpson, who knew!?

Hubby: I literally can’t get enough of Daniel talking to our baby. He tells the sweetest stories and sings the cutest songs. He is reading a book called “Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads” that a friend passed along to him (Thanks Mike!) and is rolling on the floor laughing it’s so funny. But the funny thing is that it’s actually so informative. I’m going to read it after him. Really. I think he knows more than me now.

Can’t wait for: 4th of July. A gift of a day during the week when babes is home! Check out all the vegan menu options we put together for you here!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Till next week,
